apple picking

busy weekend! i sewed and sewed on saturday until i couldnt see strait. i am about one more naps worth of work to be finished. my labels came in so everything looks nice and finished.

today we went out to gorham to have brunch with a few friends of ours. we spent the morning playing with lightning, the mini pony, two bunnies, lots of chickens and a dog. eliot was in heaven! kevin and dylan stacked fire wood and steve dug about a years worth of potatoes out of the ground. it was a nice day to be outside.

after the fun of the morning we went over to a farm to pick apples. i saw, and tasted, my first plum directly from a tree. we ended up taking home more plums than apples! they had little band playing and tractor rides. needless to say eliot went to bed early tonight.

eliot's latest feat is climbing. i dug back out this rocking horse which he can now, proudly, climb onto and rock.

and here is a pile of pants in production taken a few days ago...almost done!

post lag

Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I have been really busy with wrapping up the Ms. Lulu's order and thinking about Eliot's birthday. Busy week so far! I got a lot done last night.. 3 jackets and 8 of the pants are just waiting for my labels to arrive and they will be done. I picked up buttons yesterday so that is my goal this afternoon. 3 more jackets and 2 pair of pants.. almost done! I would like to get another photo shoot with some other babies in it too. Lot's of babies on the way to choose from!

I have a LOT of present making to do..good thing women are pregnant for 9 months..gives me enough time to do some planning.

This picture was hijacked off of Kevin's blog. We had a fun day at the park last week. (I think it was last week...time flies!)

Long Weekend

It has been a busy few days. We went up to the fair yesterday and have just been going and going. We are all wiped out! Eliot went to bed at 6:30 and Kevin and I are thinking 8 is about right for us tonight. I sewed up 4 pairs of pants this evening.. making progress! I am trying to get done by the end of the week. I don't have much for pictures this time around so I thought I would post some pictures from my past...

My Great Grandmother is one of the two girls in the top picture and bottom picture. My Mother is in the middle.

Good bad ugly

I always show posts of the good pictures. I thought I would show some of the duds in getting to the good ones. I have learned so much about my camera over the past week, very good learning experience. Also, I have learned that I have about a 5 minute window to get a good picture before major distraction or hat removal ensues.

Today I need to run around and find some embroidery thread to finish up the QAL pants and order buttons from a new source. I have a few ideas for labels that I am kicking around and need to start working on too.

We are thinking about going up to the Common Ground Fair this weekend but I am not sure if we will be able to make it with conflicting schedules. I certainly don't want to camp out with the weather getting into the 30's and 40's at night!

Wintery

I did another photo shoot today to try and get a more wintry feel. It went pretty well with my reluctant baby wrangler in tow. He did a good job but didn't take orders very well : ) Poor guy gets bossed around more than most I'm sure.

Otherwise, Eliot didn't rip the hat off too quickly so I was able to snap a few. There are a lot of good ones for the photo album but only a couple that could be used for the web or otherwise. I am working hard on the pants and coats to get them done this week (crossing fingers on that one). I was hoping to get more done today than I did. Tonight the goal is to cut the larger sized red jackets out.

Here is the best photo of the day for showing off the goods. I think the gray background makes the colors pop and hopefully look more winteryish.

Weekend Fun

Off to Camden today. That is Mt. Batty with a nice fog cover drifting by. On the way back we saw quite an event.. look at what is 'wrong' with the first picture picture..hint: it was loud and really cool..might want to click for the bigger image.

Jacket

The little Red Jacket on my little model. I am still crazy about those buttons. I can't wait to start making more of these! Eliot doesn't really like to wear the hood but I am hoping he will go for it for at least one photo shoot : ). I am going to try and get a more Wintry feel in my next shoot, hopefully this weekend if the weather stays cool and sunny. I think, the usual, Fort Williams, will be the place we go. Kevin, aka baby wrangler, has Sunday off so I am crossing my fingers it works out.

Otherwise all is well. Kevin made his first pot roast last night. I think it was a good learning experience and Eliot really liked the carrots. Anything to get him to eat veggies is good I figure.

Well, have a good day everyone! I am off to sew....

Wishfull Thinking

It is a very rainy day today here in Maine. The rain makes a good day for getting things done inside. Kevin has a training at work in the morning so I took the day off for lack of babysitters. I did some crafting during Eliot's first nap and now I am catching up on house work for nap number 2. I put a new shelving unit in the bathroom for the odds and ends that were accumulating and took apart the pack n' play in Eliot's room that he has been sleeping in. I am sick of having 2 cribs in there. I put a few makeshift bumpers out of fleece baby blankets around where he has his head so that hopefully he won't wake himself up by knocking into the bars.

I have visions of rearranging it in there so that it is a little more baby friendly. I am getting there slowly but surely. I think I would like to do something on the walls like this:

They make theirs out of old wallpaper but I think fabric modpodged onto matte board or something would work just fine. Maybe if he takes another nap?? Wishful Thinking!

WIP

Making lots of progress today and over the weekend... 10 pairs of pants cut and the majority of the machine stitching is done. Thank goodness for naps and partners that cook a mean pizza!

The above painting is a little piece of art that sits on my craft table and keeps me company while I work.

on a roll

A Little Bunny is in full swing! You will be able to find A Little Bunny creations at Ms. Lulu's in Portland, Maine. I am very excited to start sewing! If my posts are a little sporadic please forgive me. I will be posting my progress and some new creations as I go along and, of course, the usual baby pictures. Today I finished the red corduroy jacket by putting on 3 wooden buttons. I should have made Eliot the larger size. I think he will be out growing it quickly. I really like the bright red. Here is the best picture of it so far (thanks Kevin):

And a boy who loves swinging:

TGIF

I am glad it's Friday. This week has gone by very slowly for me. I think part of it has to do with Eliot's sleep regression again. sleep deprivation is hard on production!

Yesterday we bought the babe his first pair of shoes. Very cute blue and white PediPeds. I will take a picture soon. I also found the right buttons for the red jacket, so I hope to have that done this weekend.

Hat and mitten production is coming along nicely with 2 hats nearly done and two pairs of mittens also, nearly done. I would like to get about 6 or so finished then start really cranking out scarves and working on any pant orders that come in. I hope to have a more coherent collection next season instead of a hodgepodge of things. Learning as I go!

Kevin and I are going to try to make it on the art walk tonight. Have a nice weekend and I will post pictures soon!

progress

I am making lots of craft progress. I took out all of the sweaters I have accumulated over the past year or so and tried to decide which ones to turn into what. I still haven't totally decided but progress has been made. I took all of the ones I have washed and rewashed and cut them up into pieces. It was a little sad to cut up a few as they were my favorite sweaters before being accidentally shrunk. None-the-less it was a little therapeutic to do so much disassembly last night!

Some of the cut up piles with the trusty cutting scissors at the ready.

Piles of sweaters to be washed.

The organized (semi) chaos.

Some of the first results, although not completely done yet.

And.. Ta Da the jacket. The little monkey is sleeping right now, I was temped to wake him up to take a picture :) but of course, sleep is much more important! I will get some better pictures, especially when I put the buttons on.

Babyratzi

We had a fabulous long weekend! It was the perfect weather to herald the end of Summer and bring in the new Fall season. We spent most of the day on Saturday on the beach with my soon to be Sister and Brother in law. I love the attention Eliot gets from his Uncle and Auntie. Soon we will be bundled up in scarfs and hats so I was trying to get as much sun as possible.

Fall is really starting to be upon us. The leaves have started to change and the nights are cool. It makes for good sleeping weather but makes me a little too sleepy in general! I have to keep on task to get anything done. My goal for this evening is to take out all of the sweaters I have found to take a look at the lot and decide what they will be turned into...should be fun.

I came across this picture (below) while I was looking for pictures of our weekend. It is like Eliot leads a double life. Kevin takes care of him in the mornings while I go off to work so they have their Father-Son adventures. Sometimes I don't hear about them all but I run across them in the picture files. It always makes me a little sad to think I missed out on parts of his day but good to know that he is with his dad and having lots of fun. Kevin took him to see all of his hundreds of Grandma's at the local assisted living home on this outing. Eliot loves chasing the ladies with their walkers and to copy them by pushing his stroller around. He is looking more and more like a little boy every day!

On a crafty note I made a little red corduroy jacket for Eliot this weekend. It was fun to make and looks so cute! I need to find some big brown buttons to finish it off. I will show you pictures when I am done.
