Yesterday was my 30th birthday. I had a nice mellow time with Kevin and Eliot including the yummy carrot cake above. I have been thinking a lot about what turning 30 means to me and reflecting back on the last 10 years. I have really come full circle in some ways since I was 20. It took a move clear across the country for me to realize Maine is where home is. Wearing lots of different hats including cheese maker, photographer, nanny, sales person...has provided me with many experiences to draw from. I don't think I will stop the learning I have been doing but I will do it knowing a lot more clearly who I am and how I tick. So many things have changed, especially at the dawn of my 30's, that I know I will never be able to completely know what is going to happen but I can direct it in a much more thoughtful way than I had been able to in the past.
I am delighted to see where my 30's will take me! I feel very blessed to be able to really be happy with my life the way it is right now and to only imagine how amazing it will be down the road. Here's to the next 10 years!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! i couldn't believe your post -- I'm turning 30 in about 6 weeks and I've already been thinking a lot about what I would post, etc. :) It's just so funny that we are so close in age and thinking about turning 30 at the same time. The cake looks yummy! Have a good day!
